With 17 lifts, 40 runs and a vertical drop of 420 metres, Bydalsfjällen is Jämtland's second-largest ski resort. High and low zones, great runs and a good terrain park make it a favourite with the whole family. Bydalsfjällen gets large amounts of dry snow when low-pressure systems roll in from the east/south. There are five restaurants within the ski area. The small ski resort Gräftåvallen is also part of Bydalen.
Alpine touring/Ski Touring: Drommen, Västerfjället and Österfjället are classic ski tours with vertical drops of up to 600 metres. Very easily accessible from the lifts.
Getting here: Just 5.5 miles from Östersund when the ice roads across Lake Storsjön are open (otherwise about 8 miles). 55 miles from Stockholm
